Welcome Letter

Dear Colleague:

Welcome to San Diego and Solutions Summit XX, “All Hands on Deck: Sailing Through the Changing Tides of Emergency Medicine”.  When the theme for this year’s Summit was selected, no one could have known the extent to which the tides would change in just a few short months.  With a new President, a Republican-controlled Congress, a new Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services and a new CMS Administrator, the tides of Emergency Medicine – and Medicine in general – are certainly in flux.

Our twentieth Solutions Summit again brings together experts from across the country to discuss topics of particular relevance to the future success of Emergency Medicine.  We will have numerous general sessions each day, Physician Group and Billing Company CEO forums, and breakout tracks specific to salient Legal, Reimbursement, and Practice Management issues.

We are particularly excited to welcome Charles E. Cook, Jr., Editor and Publisher of The Cook Political Report, as our speaker for the Martin Gottlieb Advocacy Luncheon.  Mr. Cook is nationally known as an expert on American politics and US Elections.  As the first 100 days of President Trump’s term draw to a close, Mr. Cook is sure to deliver a timely and informed overview of the national political landscape.

My thanks to the members of the Conference Planning Committee for, once again and in the midst of uncertainty, crafting a conference that is meaningful.  When you see Paul Hudson, John Holstein, Mark Jones, or Tim Seay, please thank them for the countless hours they dedicated to what is sure to be another memorable Solutions Summit.

I encourage you to take advantage of not only the sessions, but also to engage with the exhibitors and presenters and to network with your peers.  Thank you for your attendance and participation and for being a steadfast supporter of EDPMA.

Sincerely,

Iva Lee Clement
Chair, Conference Planning Committee
